What we do |
|
| |
| |
We take an in-depth approach. We don’t just direct you on how to superficially deliver lines and move on stage, but seek to develop your inner talent.
We steer you away from imitating emotions and feelings, and focus on allowing you to have real experiences on stage or set - bringing substantial depth and believability to your work.
Our expectations
We are a professional facility and we expect attendees to conduct themselves professionally. We expect attendees to work hard and deal with acting challenges head on. We appreciate that attending actors will have varying levels of ability and that they will work at their own pace and level. However, this is not the type of environment for those wishing to take a casual approach. Attending actors will need to be proactive and pragmatic. |

How we work |
|
| |
| |
We take a personal and individual approach to teaching. You don’t just become one of the numbers in class; we take a personal interest in your development as an actor. Every actor is unique, and brings their own personal make up to acting, which we seek to understand. We then provide approaches to enhance your strengths and overcome your acting blocks. |

What we provide |
|
| |
| |
We provide an in-depth and comprehensive acting facility offering professional courses for the beginner and experienced actor. Existing professionals use the class to keep at the top of their game and new actors use it as their professional training. After attending one, many re-attend to continue honing and developing their skills. In the same way that athletes train on a regular basis, the courses allow you to be in the best possible shape to take advantage of industry opportunities when they arise. |

What makes us different? |
|
| |
| |
As professional actors ourselves, we know our way around the industry. This means that we understand the needs and objectives of our students. This understanding, together with our acting expertise and appreciation of what makes ‘outstanding’ acting, enables us to provide teaching that is both artistically fulfilling and industry aware. |

What makes us better? |

Our experience: The Centre is run by Brian Timoney, a leading UK expert in Method acting. Brian trained in the Method with David Bennett, a protégé of Lee Strasberg, inventor of the Method. Brian has extensive acting and directing experience and has taught actors appearing in London's West End and high profile films.
Our creativity: Enabling an actor to use their own personal emotion to fuse with their character to bring greater depth. Guiding an actor through the animal exercise to create alternative character physicality. Explaining the principle of ‘Speaking Out’ in a scene to your fellow actor. Using parallel experiences to uncover the needs of a character. All of which are some of the creative approaches we use to unleash the actors' potential.
